Try fitted dresses that cinch at the waist, (wrap dresses are your BFF) high-waisted jeans or pants with a tucked-in blouse, belts to define the waist over flowy pieces and structured blazers or cropped jackets. It’s best to avoid overly boxy or shapeless styles that hide your natural shape.

Pear (Wider Hips, Narrower Shoulders) 

Are your hips wider than your shoulders, with a defined waist? Hello pear! Balancing your silhouette by drawing attention upward is key. Experiment with statement tops: bold colors, prints, or off-the-shoulder cuts. A-line skirts and wide-leg trousers are also helpful when paired with jackets that hit above the hips. Boat necks or cowl necks will also be flattering. Steer clear of bottoms with a lot of extra volume or embellishments near the hips.

Apple (More Volume Around the Midsection) 

Carrying weight around your middle with slimmer legs and hips is the definition of apple. Elongating your torso and showing off your legs is ideal.  Look for V-necklines to draw the eye upward and empire waist dresses or tops that flow away from the body. Monochromatic outfits create a long, lean line and tunics or flowy tops with straight  jeans are great solutions. Tight, clingy fabrics around the waist or overly boxy shapes are best to pass on.

Rectangle (Athletic Build, Little Waist Definition)

Try peplum tops or dresses with rouching at the waist and look for high-waisted pants with a cropped top. Layered outfits will also add dimension while flared skirts or wide-leg pants can add volume below. Try to avoid baggy clothing that hides your shape or overly straight silhouettes.
