SURREY LANGLEY SKYTRAIN – WILLOWBROOK EDITION
The Surrey Langley SkyTrain project is extending the Expo Line 16 kilometres, primarily along Fraser Highway from King George Station in Surrey to 203 Street in the City of Langley. Willowbrook Shopping Centre will be a major stop along the way!
The new SkyTrain route will provide fast, frequent and reliable transit service and improve transportation in the region. In addition, it will increase access to housing and services such as childcare and health care, support healthy communities and the environment and foster economic development.
THE LATEST – FEBRUARY 26, 2026
Surrey Langley SkyTrain construction is underway, including the installation of new utilities underneath Highway 10 to support the future SkyTrain.
To support this work, the following traffic pattern change will be in effect on a 24/7 basis starting March 9, 2026, for up to three months:
- No left turns from Fraser Highway to Highway 10. Use alternate routes.
- Single lane traffic in each direction on Fraser Highway.
- Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured around the work area using available crosswalks and support from traffic control personnel.
There will be intermittent noisy activity for approximately ten days at the beginning of this work. Noise blankets will be in place where possible during this work.
Access Changes: Surrey Langley SkyTrain construction is underway, including relocating existing underground utilities.
To carry out this work, the following traffic pattern changes will be in effect on Willowbrook Drive North of Fraser Highway from February 19, 2026, to March 8, 2026.

- No access to/from Willowbrook Drive north of Fraser Highway.
- Alternate routes are available via 64 Avenue and 200 Street.
- Single lane traffic in each direction on Fraser Highway maintained.
- Business access will be maintained at all times southbound on Willowbrook Drive via 64 Avenue or 200 Street.
- Access for pedestrians and cyclists will remain unchanged.
- Night work east of Willowbrook Drive and 196 Street on Fraser Highway will take place from February 19, 2026, until April 12, 2026, from 10.00 p.m. to 7.00 a.m.
Guideway construction including rebar installation and concrete work at Willowbrook Station is
expected through spring 2026, with guideway construction including foundation and columns along Fraser Highway between 184 Street and Highway 10 (currently ongoing).
Foundation construction in this area requires the installation of retaining structures and pile driving before the guideway columns can be constructed. This type of work is expected to increase noise levels and can cause vibrations. To reduce impacts to those working in nearby businesses, the hours of this work are adjusted and include extended hours. Starting February 9, 2026, there will be intermittent pile driving and foundation work outside of regular construction hours in the laneway.
- For approximately six weeks, work will be permitted until 1 a.m., Monday to Sunday mornings.
- From mid-March to mid-August work will occur until 10 p.m.
- Noisy activities will not start until 12 p.m. during this time.
- Retaining structure installation and pile driving will be intermittent during this time, depending on the stage of work.
- Mitigations, such as noise shrouds around pile driving equipment and noise blankets, will be in place where possible.

About willowbrook station

Willowbrook Station will be located at the northeast corner of the 196 Street and Fraser Highway intersection and includes a transit exchange. It will provide a transit connection for the City of Surrey, the Township of Langley and the City of Langley, which all intersect at this station.
GROWTH For THE COMMUNITY
The area south of the Fraser River is one of the fastest growing areas in the region.
The population of Surrey, Langley City and Langley Township is projected to increase by 420,000 people and add 147,000 new jobs by the year 2050.
As the population in communities south of the Fraser River continues to grow, so does demand for transit.

The project will add 14 km of active transportation paths, bike racks and enclosed bike parking along the new SkyTrain extension. Active transportation includes walking, cycling and using mobility devices.

The new active transportation facilities will help to:
- Provide more transportation choices to and from SkyTrain stations
- Offer alternatives to cars, reducing congestion
- Prioritize healthy lifestyles
- Reduce greenhouse gases
