SURREY LANGLEY SKYTRAIN – WILLOWBROOK EDITION
The Surrey Langley SkyTrain project is extending the Expo Line 16 kilometres, primarily along Fraser Highway from King George Station in Surrey to 203 Street in the City of Langley. Willowbrook Shopping Centre will be a major stop along the way!
The new SkyTrain route will provide fast, frequent and reliable transit service and improve transportation in the region. In addition, it will increase access to housing and services such as childcare and health care, support healthy communities and the environment and foster economic development.
THE LATEST

This summer, the Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project is deploying four launching gantries to begin installation of the elevated guideway— a key step forward in construction. These specialized lifting machines – each more than 100 metres long – will play a central role in assembling the elevated guideway, lifting and placing more than 4,400 precast concrete segments. The first of the four launching gantries – the “Fleetwood Flyer” – is taking off soon from Bakerview-166 Street Station, marking the start of guideway assembly for the 16-kilometre Expo Line extension. |
The Langley Launcher will begin installing guideway segments at Hillcrest–184 Street Station and move east towards Langley City Centre Station, the last stop on the SLS extension.
This gantry has the biggest workload and will be lifting roughly 1,350 elevated guideway segments into place. Launch date: Anticipated in July 2025

Willowbrook Station will be located at the northeast corner of the 196 Street and Fraser Highway intersection and includes a transit exchange. It will provide a transit connection for the City of Surrey, the Township of Langley and the City of Langley, which all intersect at this station.
GROWTH For THE COMMUNITY
The area south of the Fraser River is one of the fastest growing areas in the region.
The population of Surrey, Langley City and Langley Township is projected to increase by 420,000 people and add 147,000 new jobs by the year 2050.
As the population in communities south of the Fraser River continues to grow, so does demand for transit.

The project will add 14 km of active transportation paths, bike racks and enclosed bike parking along the new SkyTrain extension. Active transportation includes walking, cycling and using mobility devices.

The new active transportation facilities will help to:
- Provide more transportation choices to and from SkyTrain stations
- Offer alternatives to cars, reducing congestion
- Prioritize healthy lifestyles
- Reduce greenhouse gases
